3 Words That Can Double Your Engagement on Facebook

Although there are many ways that you can get more likes on Facebook a recent Infographic from Hubspot reveals that simply using three different words can more than double your engagement.

Here is the infographic from Hubspot for you to consider.

The above infographic only analysed whether or not the words like, share, and comment where present, it does not give us any information about the context they were used in.

Based on calls to action I have used in the past a direct approach is often best.

If you are sharing a picture of a convertible Lamborghini you could likely get more people to like and share it by saying something like: ‘Like’ this post if you like convertible Lamborghini’s and ‘Share’ it if you think Lamborghini is the best brand of car.

Although tagging people in posts is sometimes seen as a spammy promotion method it is undeniably effective at driving traffic since tagged posts are shared on the timeline of the person who was tagged.

Even though the above infographic does not have data about posts with the word “tag” I suspect that if you posted a picture with a call to action like “Tag the person this picture reminds you of” that it would cause several people to do this and could create a significant amount of buzz for your post.

See This Strategy in Action

The Camaro division of Chevrolet uses the words share and like to drive more engagement for their page.

How the Camaro social media team does this is by posting a picture with two Camaros and asking their fans to vote for the newer Camaro with a “Share” and the older Camaro with a “Like.”

Check out the image below to see what I mean.

This is so true…. even in my personal Facebook I’m more likely to share or like something if it tells me too lol which is funny because I’m Italian and I don’t let anybody tell me what to do!!!
