Controversial Ways to Grow Your Facebook Page

Sometimes you have to tick a few people off to get the results you deserve.

Just look at Miley Cyrus.

Miley is infuriating countless conservatives and making millions from the mass free publicity she gets from them as they share their thoughts about her on social media.

Miley is changing the culture and getting rich in the process.

It is not uncommon for the people causing change to profit from the change they create.  Facebook is a prime example of this.

Recently I went to the “Build Audience” feature of my Facebook page to find that it has totally changed…

…the invite friends by email feature is gone and the old style friends list with check-boxes has been replaced with a single column list of friends that looks like this.

Clearly Facebook has no problem ticking people off by constantly changing their platform and this very willingness to change in spite of what people think has fueled their growth and enabled them to innovate their way to the top.

If you use the “Invite Friends” feature of your Facebook page and invite all your friends to join your page you might tick a few people off but in the process you will probably get many of your friends to like your page and this can be a big help when building your Facebook brand.

Another tool that I use to grow my Epic Inspirational Quotes Facebook Page is the WordPress plugin Facebook Page Promoter Likebox

…this plugin is a light-box that pops up front and center and demands attention a few seconds after someone visits the Epic Inspirational Quotes blog.

I have gotten angry emails about this plugin and there is no doubt that it ticks some of my visitors off…

…but thanks to my Facebook Page Promoter Likebox I am able to get 1,375% more likes from my blog than I would get without it and my Facebook page is growing at an awesome rate.

Some people consider buying likes 10,000 at a time unethical.  It ticks off the people who have worked hard to build up their page only to get far fewer likes…

…but the reality is that buying likes is smart advertising and is not in any way unethical.  Even Facebook sells likes via their ad platform.

If I had not purchased 10,000 likes from Spike My Likes for some of my pages I would not get the great engagement I now see in those pages on a daily basis.
