Facebook is a pretty straightforward platform and has grown into a massive success largely due to its ease of use.

But there is more to Facebook than meets the eye.

This post and the infographic below dive in.

The first hidden feature of Facebook mentioned below is the “other” folder.

However as of late October 2015 Facebook has transformed this hidden folder, and now it is integrated into messenger and a “filtered messages” folder.

Here is the post they made announcing the change.

At the time of writing this post the other folder is gone but now there is a new hidden”Filtered” folder.

Below show where you can find the filtered folder from your Facebook inbox.

Although the majority of messages that find their way to this folder are spam, important messages do end up here sometimes, so it is worth checking from time to time.

Strategies for Using Hidden Facebook Features

Now that you know about the hidden features above here is how you can make the most of them.

Only one or two of your page sections will be visible on a PC so I recommend putting the most important sections at the top of this list.

When you add custom apps to your page they will appear on this list, and if these drive traffic to your lead pages or sales pages you should put these apps first.

Do Joint Venture Facebook Page Features

Feature pages of other people in your niche with similar sized or larger audiences than your own.

Then contact these page owners and let them know you have featured them on your page – and ask for them to do the same.

This creates a win/win relationship if they agree where you both have the potential to get new likes from the other persons page.

Hi Garin, the “filtered” inbox thing is new for me. I never noticed it. I use the other features regularly.
